Need help figuring out which award best fits your research?
Are you:
1.) An individual PI seeking funding for a regular program-style
grant that meets the guidelines of the 21st Century Research Award?
If yes, apply for a Research Award.
2.) An individual with co-collaborators or co-PI's seeking funding
for a regular program-style grant that may involve multiple laboratories,
possibly at multiple institutions, but which otherwise meets the guidelines
of the 21st Century Research Award?
If yes, select a PI for your project (either you or one of your collaborators)
and apply for a Research Award.
3.) An individual with co-collaborators or co-PI's seeking funding
for a regular program-style grant that involves multiple laboratories,
possibly at multiple institutions, which generally meets the guidelines
of the 21st Century Research Award but for which the $450,000 budget is
not adequate?
If yes, you and another PI should submit separate applications for a
Research Award but ask that these applications be "bundled"
or considered together.
4.) An individual armed with an interesting question or topic
and a list of other individuals spanning multiple institutions, and possibly
multiple disciplines, who hope to hash out some aspect of this interesting
question or topic in the form of a workshop, or series of workshops or
panel discussions? Is your interest more in figuring out what is generally
going on with this interesting question, topic, or research agenda, than
in advancing any particular research project?
If yes, then you should should apply for a Collaborative Activity Award.
