This collaborative network plans an inter-disciplinary collaboration spanning different levels of analysis. The researchers will compare normal subjects, individuals with visual agnosia or autism, and non-human primates, as well as computational models to explore mechanism in object recognition, categorization, and the nature of perceptual expertise. The establishment of a collaborative network will provide a catalyst for research on perceptual expertise and the neural plasticity of visual systems. |
