Linking neuroscience to everyday life

The Cognitive Rehabilitation Research Group (CRRG), consists of a clinical core of faculty and staff at Washington University in coordination with members of the Rotman collaboration whose vision is to improve everyday life for individuals with brain injury, particularly stroke victims, by translating neuroscience into effective treatments.

The CRRG has established and streamlined a Stroke Registry, as well as a Lesion Registry, that serve as databases of consenting individuals who can be accessed by members of the clinical core for more detailed follow-up in research projects. These research projects seek to improve the integration of neuropsychological and neuroanatomical/neurofunctional understanding, and to facilitate the translation of this understanding into clinical practice. The CRRG has also has been working to develop and test more ecologically and clinically valid scales for assessing outcomes and performance in everyday life.
